Are you like me and fed up with all the noise and conflicting information from all these so called fitness and diet experts?

One day this is good for you and then the next the very same thing is bad for you. Gees make up your mind!!

And everyday there is some new diet regime being pitched on TV and online. Of course it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Until the next thing comes along!

Well I tried most of those diets and useless workout programs and you know what I’m done. I’m tired of listening to some guy or gal that took a nutritional class and now thinks they’re an expert.

I’m taking FULL control of my health.

And here’s how I’m doing it.

First off is this site, this is going to be my record of how I’m going to lose weight and create a permanent healthy lifestyle for myself. I’m going to share everything I do.

Next I’m going to eat whole real natural food. And yes that means dairy, pasta, rice and other things that are supposedly deadly to our health. But like everything done in moderation.

Basically if it’s not natural it’s not going into my body.

The next thing is I’m going to do is incorporate at least one green smoothie as one of my 3 meals (I do this already). I’m having 3 meals and 2 snacks everyday.

I’ve done a ton of research on green smoothies and having a green smoothie (with fruit) is not only packed with all the nutrients and fiber from those veggies and fruit.

It’s a quick and convenient way to get more veggies and fruit into my diet, without having to eat them. And my weapon of choice to make those smoothies is my Blendtec blender.

I did a ton of research and bought a bunch of different blenders and the Blendtec is the best of the best. This thing kicks ass. I swear to god it can crush rocks. And it has an 8 year warranty – yeah baby!!

And the best part is costs half as much as those over rated blenders like the Vitamix. Sure it’s not cheap, but this is a major tool in my overall health so I need a blender that will stand the test of time. It’s got a lot of work to do.

I’m going to do resistance training (weights) at least 3 times per week. More lean muscle makes me a better fat burning machine.

And on the in-between days I’m going to do things like yoga, walking, work around the yard, swimming, bike riding, heck I might even take a boxing class or two who knows.

I just know I’m going to do something on those days where I’m moving for at least 30 minutes or more.

And That’s It

Step back from what I just said and all I’m really doing is eating natural whole food, having a green smoothie everyday and exercising.

Not that complicated really.

And most importantly not listening to all those so-called gurus and buying into the latest new exercise or diet program promoted by some overpaid actor to pitch it.

So feel free to follow along, I’m going to be posting, sharing recipes and exercises that I’m doing and I’m sure ranting on a regular basis. Plus I need you to keep me accountable.

I’m starting this at a weight of 310 pounds (damn!!)

My goal is 250 pounds. And I’ll see what I look like at that point and see if I need to lose more. I plan on losing the weight slowly 1 or 2 pounds per week.

So that’s a total of 60 pounds. So to reach my goal it’s will take at least 6 months.

So here I go. It’s August 4th 2015.
